How I do it: my process in 4 phases

1. Systems map (days 1-2)

I need to know which systems you have and how information moves between them today. Who fills the CRM in, where it comes from, who updates it, where it gets duplicated. There is almost always at least one manual process someone does five times a day and nobody realises can be eliminated.

2. Flow design (days 2-3)

We define what event triggers what action. A form submitted, a record created, an order paid. We define the data format, which fields go in each direction, and which system is the source of truth for each field. This phase prevents 90% of the problems later on.

3. Build (days 3-5)

I build the integration with webhooks and REST APIs. I work on authentication, rate limits, retries and error handling. An endpoint that fails has to fail visibly, not silently.

4. Testing and documentation (days 5-7)

I test the full flow with real data and edge cases: what happens if something arrives twice, if the network drops halfway, if the CRM returns an error. I deliver documentation for every integration so any team can maintain it.
